I’m looking forward to being part of the annual Evangelical Ministry Assembly 2012 this week. It’s always a great time of being encouraged to keep on going, and being refreshed through God’s word, as well as catching up with old friends and meeting new faces. This year the programme is focusing on preaching to the heart: particularly guarding our own hearts in ministry and preaching that connects with people’s hearts.
If you’re going to be there, why not read this helpful post by Dan Green, who suggests four areas of reflection for attendees: stuff to be thankful for, stuff to be praying about, stuff to be fighting against in your own heart, and useful categories to use as you think about ‘taking the conference home’.
Also, Adrian Reynolds, who heads up ministry for Proclamation Trust (who put on the EMA), has a helpful heads up against celebrity culture at the conference on their blog here, i.e. It’s not about the big names, so put your camera away. Unless it’s to record the epic singing of course…
